Зеленски иска поканата в НАТО преди преговорите с Кремъл – haroonabadvital.com
Ukraine must receive an invitation to join NATO before peace talks with Russia can begin. This is what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with British Sky News television.
According to him, security guarantees must precede negotiations so that Kiev can later find diplomatic solutions to restore part of the occupied territories.
He added, “If we want to stop the hot phase of the war, the territory of Ukraine that we control must pass under the umbrella of NATO. We must do this quickly. After that, we can return the (occupied) territories through diplomatic channels.” Zelensky said. |
Peace talks and NATO
According to him, if the invitation was directed only to areas under Kiev’s control, Ukraine would have to give up the territories occupied by Russia.
The Ukrainian president added to the Japanese news agency “Kyodo” that the start of negotiations can only be considered “when we know that we are strong enough.”
He stressed that the war had entered a “complex phase” with Russia advancing more rapidly into eastern Ukraine.
Skeptics: United States, Germany, and Hungary
Can Trump stop the war in Ukraine within 24 hours?
Zelensky called on US President Joe Biden to use his remaining weeks in power to convince Euroskeptics:
“We have no illusions – the skeptical countries remain the same and unfortunately among them is the United States,” he added. “I don’t know if the current President Biden will recommend an invitation, but I know to some extent the position of Secretary of State Blinken – and it is more positive,” the president told Japanese media. “It’s Germany and Hungary, so a more coherent signal will be better received by all leaders.” |
He told Sky News over the weekend that US President-elect Donald Trump and his team are considering a “victory plan” for Ukraine, part of which is an invitation to NATO, and he expects to hold further talks with them to explain “some detailed things”.
North Korean cannon fire
Zelensky told Kyodo News that there were losses among North Korean soldiers fighting alongside Russia in the Kursk region. But he did not commit to the numbers, saying that the process of collecting evidence of the dead continues.
According to him, there is evidence that about 12 thousand North Korean soldiers were stationed there.
Zelensky expects more North Korean soldiers to be sent to the front, saying it is “indisputable” that Russian President Vladimir Putin will use them as “cannon fodder.”
