Vikrant Massey avoids questions related to retirement
Vikrant attended the screening of his latest film, Sabarmati Report, at Parliament’s Balayogi Hall on Monday evening. This was his first public appearance after announcing his retirement from cinema. While it was good to talk about watching the film with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and members of Parliament, he avoided questions about his retirement from films. When reporters asked him about his Instagram post, he simply walked away without talking about it, and his co-star Raashi Khanna took over the film.
When watching the movie with the Prime Minister
Speaking to ANI and journalists present there, Vikrant described watching the film with the Prime Minister as the “highest point of his career”. He said: I watched the film with the Prime Minister, all the ministers, and many representatives. It was a special experience. I still can’t fully express it in words because I’m so happy… This is the highest point in my career, that I was able to watch my film with the Prime Minister. Rashi also expressed his happiness at watching the film in Parliament.
Vikrant retires from films
Vikrant, who has produced critically acclaimed films like 12th Fail, Section 36 among others, has announced his retirement. “The last few years and beyond have been exceptional,” his post read. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realize it’s time to recalibrate and come home, as a husband, father, son and also as an actor.
“So by 2025, we will meet each other for the last time until the time sees fit,” he added. The last two films and many years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between.” Haseen Dillruba’s co-star Harshvardhan Rane believes this announcement is a PR move to promote his next film, Zero Se Restart.
