Злато за целия китайски народ: Откриха най-голямото находище на златна руда, намирано някога – haroonabadvital.com
A stockpile of high-quality gold ore containing about 1,000 metric tons (1,100 US tons) of the precious metal has been discovered in central China, international news agencies reported.
The discovery is valued at 600 billion yuan or US$83 billion, and could be considered the largest and most profitable gold reservoir ever discovered, surpassing the 900 metric tons believed to be located in the “Mother of Gold Reserves” – the South. Deep mine in South Africa.
The Hunan Provincial Geological Bureau announced that 40 gold veins were discovered at a depth of 2 km in Pingjiang County, northeastern Hunan Province. These alone are thought to contain 300 metric tons of gold, with 3D modeling showing that additional reserves could be found at depths of up to 3 kilometres.
“Many of the rock cores that were drilled show visible gold,” said Chen Ruolin, a researcher at the bureau.
Core samples show that each metric ton of ore can contain up to 138 grams (about 5 ounces) of gold, which is an extremely high grade, since ore extracted from underground mines is considered high-grade if it contains more than 8 grams. .
China already dominates the global gold market, and it is expected that in 2024 its reserves will exceed 2,000 tons and the mining industry will contribute about 10% of global production.
The announcement of the results helped push the already high price of gold higher as demand for the resource continues to rise amid global uncertainty.
It is unclear exactly how many treasure troves of the precious ore remain yet to be discovered around the world, with experts divided on whether we have reached peak gold.
Our planet’s shimmering veins were formed in the furnaces of coexisting stars long before the Earth formed, a finite resource that settles over the ages to become an easily mined object.
Based on this latest data, we may be far from running out of economically viable reserves. Core samples taken from the vicinity of the Hunan deposits indicate that the deposits may extend further than originally expected.
The year was notable for gold discoveries. In March, a treasure hunter in England found what is believed to be the largest nugget of gold ever found in the country.
Just two months ago, research by scientists in Australia discovered a new mechanism that could lead to the formation of gold, suggesting that the seismic activity of earthquakes actually plays a role in the formation of large nuggets.
But that’s not all. In addition to learning more about the natural composition of gold, scientists are also exploring new things that can be done to manipulate this precious resource.
