This vote is the bankruptcy of the parties. This is how far-right independent candidate Calin Georgescu commented on the results of the parliamentary elections in Romania, BTA news agency reported.

He commented in a video speech that this result was expected, and that the result of the parliamentary elections was the result of parliamentary decisions over the past 35 years.

“We are talking about the result of wrong decisions made by Romanian politicians, but also about the result of right decisions made by Romanians,” says Calin Georgescu.

A few days before the presidential runoff elections on December 8, he appealed for their support to pensioners, disabled people, Romanians abroad and various ethnic groups on the territory of Romania. He asked the same thing from the residents of the Republic of Moldova, then added:

“You will have my support for anything you think is good for your country.”

Surprisingly, far-right independent candidate Calin Georgescu, who was little-known to the Romanian public, came in first place in the first round of the presidential election, relying mainly on campaigning by sharing videos on TikTok. The runoff will be held on December 8. Georgescu will next face the leader of the Union to Save Romania, Elena Lasconi.
