Botev Plovdiv responded with a statement from Lokomotiv Plovdiv regarding the massacre that occurred in the guest sector after the city derby. Similar incidents occurred at Hristo Botev Stadium in the first half of the season, when the Canaries condemned the behavior of the “black and white” crowd. Now Botev admitted that they are ashamed of the behavior of their fans and stated that it is clear that there are some among them who behave like faraways.
This is what Botev wrote:
“Dear Potivians,
Yesterday, the second Plovdiv derby of the 2024/2025 season was held, and ended with the victory of Botev’s team. For the first time, our fans were seated in the guest section of the new South Stand at Lokomotiv Stadium, where they had the opportunity to enjoy the match and the success of the “Yellow and Black”.
Regarding questions addressed to us publicly by the management of PFC Lokomotiv, we would like to state the following:
Yes, we are ashamed of the acts of vandalism committed in the sanitary facilities in the guest sector of Lokomotiv Stadium!
Yes, it is clear that even among our supporters there are those who act like barbarians!
No, this is not the appropriate attitude and European mentality that we want to impose as a rule when we meet with our sporting opponents!
Yes, we consider the actions committed to be a disgrace to our city!
Yes, we once again call on all concerned parties to condemn aggression and destruction, but we cannot agree with the word “unjustified” because we all remember well what happened at Hristo Botev Stadium in the first meeting between the two teams this season!
However, we agree with your statement that such events have no place in any stadium. We are ready to participate in the discussion and implementation of all possible measures to prevent such infringements.
